A competent, reliable, multi-skilled mental health professional with training in CBT, DBT counselling and other holistic approaches to mental and relational well-being, and experience of working in both private mental health practice and the National Health Service. Was nominated for and rewarded staff excellence awards for outstanding contribution towards the advancement and care of patient. Was commended for “Exceptional” ability and skill to engage patients, particularly in dialogue and group work.

Utilising other holistic therapies like counselling equipped me to challenge my clients to take risks, responsibility and opportunities. I am aware that it is not always possible to use a coaching approach in mental health, and sometimes it may not be appropriate. What was important, however, was being a good listener and connecting with my clients where they were. Through our work together they often fed back that they enjoyed increased confidence and were inspired and motivated to achieve their goals and dreams. As a qualified coach, I continue to invite my clients to stretch beyond their comfort zone and challenge their assumptions, limiting beliefs and perspectives to elicit new insights and possibilities.
